Mouser Electronics, Inc., the industry’s leading New Product Introduction (NPI) distributor with the widest selection of semiconductors and electronic components, is now offering the highly sought-after BeagleBone Black Wireless for pre-order. Based on the extremely successful open source BeagleBone Black hardware design, BeagleBone Black Wireless is a high-expansion, maker-focused open hardware computer created by the BeagleBoard.org Foundation. BeagleBone Black Wireless is an easy-to-use, credit card-sized Linux computer designed for powerful Internet of Things (IoT) applications.

BeagleBone Black Wireless, now available to order at Mouser, maximizes connectivity by trading in the 10/100 Ethernet port from BeagleBone Black for a high-performance Texas Instruments WL1835MOD802.11 b/g/n 2.4GHz Wi-Fi module with Bluetooth® capabilities. The board offers an HDMI output, serial debug port, PC USB interface, USB 2.0 host, and reset and power buttons. The board also retains the 4GBytes of onboard eMMC memory with Debian Linux pre-installed, allowing BeagleBone Black Wireless to boot in 10 seconds, and enabling engineers to start developing through a web browser in less than five minutes using a single USB cable.

BeagleBone Wireless is built on an Octavo OSD3358 system-in-package (SiP), which integrates a Texas Instruments TPS65217C power management IC (PMIC), Sitara AM335x ARM® Cortex®-A8 microprocessor, and TL5209 low dropout (LDO) voltage regulator, plus affordable design tools that maximize access for customized variations. BeagleBone Black Wireless is fully software, hardware, and mechanically compatible with BeagleBone Black. The Wireless board is also compatible with all existing BeagleBone Black capes and accessories for hardware expansion, integration, and peripherals, including capes for the Seeed Grove System and MikroElektronika mikroBUS clickBoard system.
