MIC Electronics Limited has received a variation order worth approximately ₹1.05 crore from the Nagpur Division of Central Railway, further expanding the scope of its ongoing passenger information and telecom infrastructure project under the Amrit Bharat Scheme. With this addition, the total contract value has been revised to ₹9.42 crore, up from the original agreement value of ₹8.37 crore.
The variation order forms part of an existing project awarded to MIC Electronics for the supply, installation, testing and commissioning of telecom assets and passenger amenities across seven stations in the Nagpur Division. The project includes integrated Passenger Information Display Systems (IPIS), public address systems, networking infrastructure and digital display integration, aimed at modernising station-level passenger communication.
The additional scope has been sanctioned to accommodate expanded passenger information assets and station-level digital upgrades, reflecting evolving on-ground requirements as the project progresses. The variation includes the integration of additional display boards, augmentation of public address (PA) systems, and expansion of optical fibre, power and data cabling to support enhanced connectivity and coverage across stations.
As part of the expanded scope, MIC Electronics will deploy managed Layer-2 POE switches, increased OFC and shielded data cabling, additional PA amplifiers and speakers, LIUs, racks, jointing kits, and associated networking and hardware infrastructure. These additions will enable wider display coverage, stronger PA reach, improved redundancy, and higher system reliability, ensuring clearer, real-time passenger communication across platforms and concourse areas.
The enhanced deployment continues to adhere to RDSO and Indian Railways specifications, including compliance for networking equipment, PA systems, UPS infrastructure, cabling standards, and civil works related to trenching and protection. Notable upgrades include gigabit-capable managed switches, high-capacity UPS systems with N+1 architecture, and improved fibre and data networks designed for mission-critical passenger information systems.
The variation order underscores Central Railway’s confidence in MIC Electronics’ execution capabilities, and deepens the company’s role in modernising passenger information systems under national railway infrastructure programmes. It also adds incremental value to an already active project, improving project economics while strengthening MIC’s engagement with one of Indian Railways’ key zones.

With the revised contract value of ₹9.42 crore, the project enhances MIC Electronics’ order book visibility, with revenues expected to be recognised across FY25 and FY26, in line with execution milestones. The development further reinforces MIC’s positioning as a one-stop integrator for IPIS, PA systems, telecom, networking and digital display solutions for Indian Railways.
Looking ahead, MIC Electronics sees growing demand for fully digital, IP-based passenger information systems, driven by initiatives such as Amrit Bharat Stations, Smart Stations and Gati Shakti. With established credentials across multiple railway zones, the company expects similar expansion opportunities as stations across India continue to upgrade passenger-facing digital infrastructure.
