New Delhi-January 27, 2020- In today’s digital era, data has become a vital asset of every business, and the use of the Internet has exponentially amplified over the years. From making communication faster to accessing services easily it has exposed individuals to thousands of benefits of a connected world. We are creating data every single day whenever we open a website or while buying something from the online market. The usage of Smartphones and Social Media, the government’s emphasis on the Digital Economy, and the rise in technology-driven businesses have led to the rapid growth in data usage and storage, thereby increasing data center space. As we look forward, the concept of what the data centers do and what they are tasked to accomplish will continue to evolve.

The usage of Data Centers has scaled up from the size of a room to the size of a commercial tower, giving room to accommodate this increased need of storage. Besides storage, Data Centers have been designed to cover the demands of the clientele, the modern Data Centers have become a crucial part of the IT infrastructure; any form of interruptions in a Data Center can lead to a tremendous loss for the constitution of an organization. It is thereby imperative to deliver an end to end management of Data Centers by breaking the silos between IT and Facilities, while even managing their interdependencies.

A right data center solution is the one that helps the DC managers to get top information of their Data Center on multi-faceted dashboards prompting necessary actions to resolve issues.

A recent report estimates that the Indian Data Center Market size will hit USD 1.5 billion by 2022 from USD 1.0 billion in 2018, growing at a CAGR of 11.4 percentage. This will be majorly driven by increasing data storage demands of IT & Telecom and BFSI sectors, and global IT giants with operations in India.

The data center will continue to remain an essential aspect of the IT industry. With the progress in technology, we will continue to foresee many developments in the future of the Data Center.

Emphasis on Security: With the advancement of technology, security has become an important concern among businesses these days. As data centers are becoming smarter and more connected, the threat of data breach has grown more potent.  The major concern among many data centers is that they receive inadequate monitoring of third-party people accessing the devices and the digitized operations they carry out within the premises.  The Data Center facilities in the future are likely to grant access to a network resource only if it fulfils specific criteria’s, including the time of the day, location, and so on.

Edge Computing: The technology pushes the core processing functions to the specific location where it is often needed at the edges of the network, which builds it possible to gather and study data “on position”instead of transporting the information back to the centralized cloud for computation.

Impact of 5G Technology: 5G technology will bring forward more content in the marketplace. With the growing demand, the need for higher storage will be required. The data centerswill turn towards Cloud and other technologies to store ample amount of information. The 5G technology will transform the industry by revamping its existing processes and infrastructure and; at the same time come up as a solution to the challenges and barriers they are facing in the present scenario.

Industry growth: With the continuous growth in the industry, it is believedthat the organizations in all the sectors will considerthat the money is to be made in owning data centers. Many businesses are expected to branch out in the data center business, making the industry even more massive and competitive. We can expect the data centers to emerge in many more locations, especially in fields that receive massive amounts of information processing and business transactions.

Sustainability: The primary focal point of all the industries over the years has been repositionedto the rise of sustainability. The climate crisis has turned a substantial worry for all the people, and it is not going away by itself, so changes need to be more environment-friendly. When we talk about Data Centers, cooling is the most important element that uses upa great quantity of energy; therefore, changes are required to be preparedin order to cut back on poweruse. The Government may limit data center operations to meet the power demands of the public and other corporations until these green targets are met.

A company’s IT infrastructure cannot function reliably without suitable data center. Due to the rising quantity of data being sent across the world, data centers need to evolvein order to keep up with networking trends.
