Protectt.ai, a leader in Mobile App Security and an innovative cyber security firm delivering RASP XDR platform announces launch of Binary Clash 360 for students, professionals & cyber security enthusiasts. The comprehensive cybersecurity program, in collaboration with Centre for Cybersecurity, Trust and Reliability (CyStar) at Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) and IIITDM Kancheepuram aims to empower the next generation of cybersecurity professionals by focusing on the critical challenges of modern cyber threats. Started in February, the program continues till December 2025.

Binary Clash 360 is a multi-stage program, designed to provide participants with in-depth knowledge and practical experience in binary obfuscation, a critical technique for protecting mobile apps from reverse engineering attacks. The program recognizes the evolving sophistication of reverse engineering methods and the unique challenges they present to mobile app security. It aims to bridge the cybersecurity skills gap by providing hands-on training and practical experience in a critical area of cybersecurity and software protection.

The program features two parallel tracks focused on binary obfuscation—one for Android and one for iOS. One can choose to specialize in either or seamlessly explore both, gaining versatile expertise in mobile app security. The impact goes beyond individual skill-building—it strengthens the broader cybersecurity ecosystem by cultivating a new generation of security-conscious developers and researchers who can proactively defend against modern threats.

Talking about this collaboration, Manish Mimani, Founder & CEO, Proetctt.ai, said, “Protectt.ai has always been driven by the urge to empower the next generation of cybersecurity professionals. Our collaboration with the IIT Madras and IIITDM on Binary Clash 360, will directly address the critical need for advanced Mobile App Security expertise and will equip participants with the skills and knowledge required to defend mobile ecosystems against evolving threats and help create a more secure digital future.”

Sharing insights about the program, Chester Rebeiro, Associate Professor at Computer Science department, IIT Madras, said “CyStar, in collaboration with Protectt.ai, is organizing a Hackathon to nurture the next generation of cybersecurity leaders as India advances as a global digital hub. Aligned with CyStar’s vision of fostering collaboration between academia, industry, and research institutions, this competition bridges the gap between academic knowledge and real-world Mobile App Security challenges. By equipping students, professionals, and researchers with industry-relevant skills, we aim to build a talent pool that is not only skilled but also prepared to tackle the evolving security landscape, ultimately contributing to a safer digital world.”

Program Details:

Binary Clash 360 consists of a multi-stage program:

  1. Bootcamp: An online training program to introduce participants to binaries, reverse engineering, and modern obfuscation techniques.
  2. Hackathon: A Blue Teaming activity where participants design obfuscation algorithms and apply them to a library of binaries.
  3. Capture the Flag (CTF): A competitive event to test your de-obfuscation skills against obfuscated binaries created during the Hackathon.
  4. Prize and Internships: The event offers cash prizes totalling INR 10,00,000+. An internship opportunity for selected teams to build on their ideas and work toward creating a Minimum Viable Product (MVP).

The call for participation began on 13th February 2025 for students, professionals and enthusiasts.
