TimesTech: With a strong background in business development across multiple industries, how have your experiences at Cosmic Petrochem, Window Magic, and Fritt Solar influenced your leadership style at Volt Energy?
Surbhi Bajaj Through a range of professional experiences, I have learned that building a successful business comes down to developing trust-based, long-term relationships. Whether I was managing industrial products or scaling rooftop solar, the common thread has always been about delivering consistent value and truly listening to customer pain points. With Volt Energy, I am focused on creating a customer-first culture- one that prioritises solving real problems while also delivering value to our investors and partners.
TimesTech: One of your key strengths is relationship-building in business. How does this skill contribute to Volt Energy’s success in engaging with MSMEs, financial institutions, and service providers?
Surbhi Bajaj I have seen firsthand that our marketplace thrives on trust. Building strong relationships has been key to bringing credible installers on board, earning the confidence of investors, and assuring MSMEs that they are in capable hands. At Volt Energy, every strategic step we take is rooted in relationship building- it’s not just a soft skill, it’s a core part of how we grow and create impact.
TimesTech: Volt Energy is at the intersection of clean-tech and fin-tech. What role does financial innovation play in making rooftop solar adoption more accessible, and how does Volt Energy address financing challenges for businesses?
Surbhi Bajaj Financial innovation is the backbone of our offering. By combining tech-based risk assessment, investor transparency, and asset performance tracking, we make financing solar as seamless as buying a subscription. We have eliminated the need for MSMEs to take loans or worry about payback periods-making clean energy a no-brainer.
TimesTech: Beyond solar energy, Volt Energy focuses on distributed energy solutions like battery storage, energy efficiency, and EVs. What’s next for Volt Energy in terms of expansion and innovation?
Surbhi Bajaj Our vision is to offer distributed energy services that all MSMEs in India would choose as their primary supplier. As part of this scheme, we will unite storage systems together with power monitoring devices and EV charging stations and eventually AI-controlled energy optimisation throughout one unified zero-cost, zero-risk framework. Volt Energy seeks to lead clean energy decentralisation through an operation that combines simplicity with unwavering trust.
