TimesTech: With the recent implementation of the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, how do you see the role of Sovereign Cloud evolving as a strategic necessity for Indian enterprises and government bodies?
Bakshish: Under the DPDP Act 2023, enterprises are required to inform users where their data is being stored and the purpose of its use. Additionally, if the data is being transferred outside India, it must only be sent to jurisdictions approved by the Indian government. So the DPDP Act fundamentally shifts how data is viewed—from an asset to a liability if mishandled. For Indian enterprises and government bodies, this makes Sovereign Cloud not just an option but a strategic imperative. Hosting sensitive data within national borders, under Indian jurisdiction, ensures compliance while reducing exposure to cross-border regulatory risks. It’s also about control. Enterprises want to know where their data lives, who has access, and under which laws. Sovereign Cloud delivers that clarity.
TimesTech: E2E Networks recently launched its AI-powered Sovereign Cloud Platform. Could you elaborate on how this platform ensures data sovereignty and how it addresses concerns like vendor lock-in and cloud technology sanctions?
Bakshish: The Sovereign Cloud Platform is designed to give organizations full control over their digital infrastructure. By supporting deployment either on the customer’s infrastructure or on air-gapped infrastructure provided by us, it ensures that data stays within prescribed boundaries, fully aligned with local regulatory and compliance requirements.
E2E Cloud’s Sovereign Cloud Platform is purpose-built to help organizations stay resilient and future-ready amidst evolving cloud technology sanctions. Built in India using battle-tested open-source technologies, it eliminates reliance on foreign proprietary stacks. This ensures that enterprises and governments can maintain uninterrupted operations, scale confidently, and innovate freely, without the risk of external restrictions or geopolitical disruptions. By fostering self-reliance and digital autonomy, the platform empowers organizations to grow securely on their terms.
TimesTech: India’s AI ecosystem is gaining momentum, especially with initiatives like the IndiaAI Mission. How is E2E Networks contributing to this space, and what role does indigenous cloud infrastructure play in supporting the development of large language models (LLMs) and AI applications?
Bakshish: We’re enabling the IndiaAI Mission by providing high-performance, cost-efficient GPU infrastructure at scale, right here in India. LLMs and AI applications need vast compute power and secure environments to train, fine-tune, and deploy models. Our infrastructure is built specifically for this. It’s low-latency, optimized for AI workloads, and compliant with local data norms. Indigenous infrastructure ensures that Indian innovation doesn’t rely on foreign backbones—it stays sovereign, secure, and scalable. Through its advanced GPU infrastructure and the TIR AI/ML Platform, E2E Cloud is instrumental in advancing India’s AI capabilities, enabling the development of sophisticated AI applications and contributing to the nation’s position as a global AI leader.
TimesTech: Trust and transparency have become key differentiators in the cloud era. What steps is E2E taking to ensure trust, compliance, and control for its customers, particularly in regulated industries like finance, healthcare, and public sector?
Bakshish: We build for trust from day one. Our infrastructure is certified for industry-specific compliance standards— PCI-DSS and MeitY empanelment. We also provide customers with full visibility into where and how their data is processed. Unlike black-box cloud providers, our approach is transparent, auditable, and locally accountable. That’s why organizations are choosing us to power their digital transformation.
TimesTech: As one of the few homegrown, NSE-listed cloud providers, how is E2E Networks redefining India’s data economy, and what’s your vision for building a truly digital and self-reliant ‘Bharat’ through cloud infrastructure?
Bakshish: At E2E Networks, our mission has always been rooted in building technology that empowers India. As one of the very few homegrown, NSE-listed cloud providers, we are uniquely positioned to redefine India’s data economy by offering cloud infrastructure that is not only powerful and scalable but also sovereign and deeply aligned with national priorities.
We believe that India’s digital future cannot be built on borrowed infrastructure. Our Sovereign Cloud Platform is designed to give enterprises, startups, public sector institutions, and developers complete control over their digital assets, ensuring data stays within Indian borders and complies with local regulations.
With our recent deployment of NVIDIA H200 and H100 GPUs, and the launch of our TIR AI/ML Platform, we are enabling India’s AI ecosystem to thrive—from building Indic language LLMs to accelerating GenAI innovation across sectors like healthcare, education, media, and governance.
Our vision for a truly digital and self-reliant ‘Bharat’ is one where every developer, startup, and government agency has access to world-class cloud and AI infrastructure, without relying on foreign hyperscalers. We’re not just building a cloud—we’re building the foundation for India’s digital sovereignty.
