Saelig Company, has introduced the Siglent SHA860A Series Real-time Handheld Signal Analyzers, which broadens SIGLENT’s handheld analysis capabilities with extended bandwidth real-time and modulation analysis. The SHA860A series can handle frequencies up to 7.5GHz with 110MHz of real-time bandwidth. This enables 5G NR and LTE measurements with a 100% probability of intercept time of just 3.51us. Cable test, network analysis, advanced measurements as well as analog and digital demodulation and IQ acquisition capabilities can also be added. The analyzer is easily controlled from an 8.4” multi-touch screen, mouse and keyboard.
The SHA861A covers 9kHz to 3.6GHz, while the SHA862A model can handle signals up to 7.5GHz. With the SHA860A, Siglent has created a multi-instrument mobile signal analyzer that can cope with 5G NR/LTE signals. Combining spectrum analysis, vector network analysis, cable testing and antenna testing into a single portable platform, the SHA860A delivers utility for base station deployment, maintenance, and on-site troubleshooting. Its 5G NR over-the-air mode demodulates signals to extract parameters including frequency, physical cell identity (PCI), SSB index, frequency error, and error vector magnitude for the SSB portion, visualized through constellation diagrams. For LTE over-the-air testing, demodulation capabilities include PCI, sector identity, cell group, frequency error, time offset, synchronization status and power levels, as well as EVM measurements and constellation diagrams.
Up to 300,000 FFT/s can be taken during signal analysis, and the 300MHz sample rate is backed by 1Gbyte of RAM. Analysis tools include frequency mask triggering, and density, 3D, spectrogram and Power vs time displays. Single-port cable loss, return loss, insertion loss, VSWR and distance-to-fault can be measured for cables and antennas, with an optional upgrade to one-path two-Port vector network analysis with S11/S21 testing, Smith chart display and 114dB dynamic range for amplitude/phase responses. Pulse analysis evaluates power, pulse transitions and signal characteristics using positive/negative peak, sample and average detection. For indoor and outdoor coverage mapping, data logging with GPS-based positioning is also possible. Key applications include: 5G NR & LTE signal validation, complex IQ demodulation, real-time signal and interference hunting, RF component characterization, etc.
