TimesTech: ReadyAssist has been shifting roadside assistance from reactive emergency support to proactive, AI-led care. Can you explain how predictive diagnostics and telematics are changing the way breakdowns are managed in India?

Vimal: At ReadyAssist, we believe the future of roadside assistance lies in prevention rather than just reaction. By integrating telematics, vehicle fault codes, and AI-led predictive diagnostics, we can identify early warning signs of failure before they translate into breakdowns. This allows vehicle owners and fleets to act on potential issues in advance, reducing downtime and minimizing disruptions. For us, this is about moving roadside assistance from being an emergency-only service to becoming a trusted, proactive mobility partner.

TimesTech: Vehicle intelligence has traditionally been the domain of OEMs. How is ReadyAssist democratizing access to advanced diagnostics for Tier 2/3 fleet operators and independent garages?

Vimal: Traditionally, vehicle intelligence has been controlled within OEM networks, leaving smaller operators and local garages outside the digital ecosystem. ReadyAssist is changing that by combining our proprietary tech platforms with Mecademy, our in-house training and skilling initiative. Mechanics in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities are digitally onboarded, trained on both ICE and EV technologies, and provided with tools that bring transparency and consistency to servicing. This approach gives independent garages and small fleet operators access to diagnostics and service standards previously reserved for OEMs, leveling the playing field across markets.

TimesTech: Your services are powertrain-agnostic, covering ICE, EV, and hybrid vehicles. How does this flexibility position ReadyAssist in India’s rapidly evolving mobility landscape?

Vimal: India is in the midst of a mobility transition, with ICE vehicles still dominant, EV adoption accelerating, and hybrids adding another layer of complexity. Our powertrain-agnostic model ensures we can meet this diversity without bias. Whether it’s a two-wheeler/four wheeler EV, an ICE sedan, or a hybrid SUV, our systems and trained network are ready to support them all.  ICE customers continue to rely on us for standardized RSA and doorstep service; EV owners benefit from a growing pool of Mecademy-trained mechanics who address the national EV skill gap; and hybrid owners gain access to our tech-led diagnostic and servicing capabilities. This flexibility allows us to support OEMs, insurers, and fleets as they expand into newer segments, positioning ReadyAssist as a dependable partner through every stage of this evolution.

TimesTech: With a network of 6,000+ mechanics across 19,000+ pin codes, how does ReadyAssist ensure service quality and consistency at such a large scale?

Vimal: Scaling RSA across 19,000+ pin codes sounds impressive, but scale without consistency doesn’t create trust. Scaling service quality across geographies requires a strong balance of technology, training, and performance-linked incentives. Every job is tracked digitally from request to resolution, with transparency for both the customer and our partners. Feedback loops are built into the system, and payouts are tied directly to jobs that achieve 4-star or higher ratings, driving accountability at the last mile. In parallel, our Mecademy platform continuously upskills mechanics covering ICE, EV, and even customer interaction training so that consistency and professionalism are maintained regardless of geography. This blend of real-time monitoring and structured capacity building ensures that quality remains uniform at scale.

TimesTech: Partnerships with OEMs and EV players suggest deep industry integration. How do these collaborations strengthen your ability to deliver reliable roadside assistance?

Vimal: Our partnerships with leading OEMs and EV-first companies integrate us deeply into their post-sales ecosystem. This collaboration provides access to vehicle-specific data, standardized protocols, and escalation processes that make our service more effective and reliable. For OEMs, particularly in the EV space, our plug-and-play RSA and lifecycle management infrastructure helps them expand into new geographies quickly without the need to build physical networks. These partnerships not only strengthen our delivery capabilities but also reinforce trust across the ecosystem, positioning ReadyAssist as a backbone player in India’s mobility service infrastructure.

TimesTech: Since your inception in 2015, ReadyAssist has grown into a leader in vehicle lifecycle services. What’s next—how do you envision the future of roadside assistance and vehicle care in India?

Vimal: Since 2015, we’ve been on a journey to redefine what roadside assistance means in India. We started as an emergency response provider, but today we’re evolving into a full lifecycle mobility partner. Looking forward, our focus is on predictive maintenance, EV annual maintenance solutions, AI-led insurance claims, and clean energy integrations like CNG retrofits. The future of RSA is intelligent, preventive, and sustainable, moving far beyond distress calls. Our vision is clear, to be the operating system for mobility services in India, reducing downtime and making vehicle ownership truly worry free.
