As India accelerates investments in renewable energy and grid modernisation, Advait Battery Ecosystems Private Limited, a subsidiary of Advait Energy Transitions Limited, has entered into a Strategic Collaboration Agreement with Adaptive Engineering Private Limited to jointly establish, develop and commercialise an integrated Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) manufacturing and solutions platform in India. The collaboration aims to combine manufacturing, engineering, system integration and lifecycle optimisation capabilities to serve the country’s rapidly growing utility-scale and commercial & industrial (C&I) energy storage market.
The partnership reflects the evolving needs of India’s energy transition, where battery storage is becoming an essential component for renewable energy integration, grid stability and reliable power management. Rather than focusing solely on manufacturing, the collaboration is designed to create an end-to-end BESS platform spanning the entire value chain, from cell integration and system engineering to Energy Management Systems (EMS), system integration and long-term lifecycle optimisation.
Under the agreement, Advait Battery Ecosystems will lead infrastructure development, manufacturing, capital investment, commercial engagement and business development for the BESS platform. The company has already secured land for the manufacturing facility, initiated civil development works, finalised the assembly line OEM with technical inputs from Adaptive, and is targeting commissioning of the facility by November 2026 while actively engaging with public sector undertakings and leading renewable energy developers for prospective opportunities.
Adaptive Engineering will contribute its expertise in engineering design, PLC, SCADA, EMS architecture and system integration, leading the technology and engineering functions for BESS projects executed under the collaboration. The company brings experience across more than 68 GW of renewable energy projects, 55 GW+ of Power Plant Controller (PPC) installations, 1.4 GWh of EMS-BESS deployments, and management of over 500 renewable sites, strengthening the platform’s technical capabilities.

The collaboration will target both utility-scale and commercial & industrial (C&I) BESS applications, offering integrated solutions covering cell-to-rack assembly, Energy Management Systems, system integration and associated power conversion infrastructure. The platform is also intended to remain adaptable for future technologies such as hydrogen, fuel cells, EV charging infrastructure, microgrids and virtual power plants, ensuring long-term scalability as India’s energy landscape evolves.
Beyond technology integration, the agreement establishes a framework for long-term collaboration in engineering, manufacturing, commercial development and customer engagement. Advait will spearhead client acquisition, tendering and commercial relationships, while Adaptive will support proposal development, technical documentation, design optimisation and lifecycle strategy for future projects.
As India continues expanding renewable energy capacity and investing in energy storage infrastructure, the collaboration positions both companies to address growing demand for integrated, domestically developed BESS solutions that combine manufacturing capability with advanced engineering and digital energy management technologies. The partnership represents a significant step towards strengthening India’s battery storage ecosystem and supporting the country’s long-term clean energy ambitions.
