The Chamber of Commerce & Industry of India (CCI India) is organising a high-level Round Table Discussion on “Shaping the Future of Electric Mobility in India and Beyond” on Tuesday, 24th November 2026 at 10:30 AM at the India International Centre (IIC), New Delhi. The event will bring together industry leaders, OEMs, charging infrastructure providers, technology companies, investors, policymakers, mobility solution providers, entrepreneurs, semiconductor companies, battery recycling importers and other key stakeholders to discuss the evolving electric mobility ecosystem and explore opportunities for innovation, investment, business expansion and international cooperation.

Electric mobility is rapidly transforming the global transportation sector and creating new opportunities across manufacturing, infrastructure, energy, technology, storage and services. The transition towards electric vehicles extends beyond vehicle adoption and involves the development of a comprehensive ecosystem covering batteries, charging stations, energy management, components, software, financing, fleet management, maintenance and recycling. As countries seek cleaner, more efficient and sustainable transportation solutions, electric mobility is emerging as an important area for technological advancement and economic cooperation.

India has witnessed growing momentum in the electric mobility sector, with increasing adoption across two-wheelers, three-wheelers, passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles and public transportation. This growth is accompanied by a rising requirement for dependable and accessible charging infrastructure. The availability of charging stations and supporting infrastructure will be critical to facilitating wider EV adoption and creating consumer confidence. The Round Table will provide an opportunity to discuss mobility, development and expansion of charging networks, investment opportunities, emerging charging technologies, infrastructure requirements and business models that can support the long-term growth of the EV ecosystem.

A key focus of the discussion will be the market expansion potential of electric mobility in India and international markets, particularly Africa. African countries are witnessing rapid urbanisation and changing transportation requirements, creating opportunities for sustainable and cost-effective mobility solutions. Indian companies with capabilities in electric vehicles, components, batteries, charging solutions, mobility technology and related services can explore potential opportunities in these emerging markets. The Round Table will facilitate discussions on market access, local requirements, partnerships and avenues through which Indian businesses can expand their presence in African countries.

The India–Africa focus will also highlight the potential for cooperation in EV manufacturing, charging infrastructure, battery technology, mobility services, financing, technical expertise and skill development. Partnerships between Indian and African businesses and institutions can support the development of mobility solutions suited to local requirements while creating opportunities for trade, investment and technology exchange. The event will provide a platform for stakeholders to examine how such partnerships can contribute to the development of sustainable and commercially viable electric mobility ecosystems.

The discussions will further cover opportunities across the wider EV value chain, including battery technology, power electronics, vehicle components, battery management systems, software, telematics, energy storage and recycling. Startups and technology-driven companies are also playing an increasingly important role in developing innovative solutions for charging, fleet management, digital mobility and energy optimisation. Bringing these companies together with industry leaders, investors and international stakeholders can create opportunities for collaboration, technology partnerships and business growth.

Investment and financing will be another important aspect of the Round Table, particularly as the development of manufacturing facilities, charging networks, battery infrastructure and emerging technologies requires significant capital. The event will provide stakeholders with an opportunity to discuss commercial opportunities within the electric mobility value chain and explore potential avenues for investment and collaboration.

The Round Table will also examine the importance of policy, regulatory frameworks and institutional cooperation in accelerating the development of electric mobility. Different markets have varying infrastructure capabilities, energy systems, consumer preferences and regulatory requirements. Greater dialogue among governments, industry, investors and institutions can help identify practical approaches to infrastructure development, technology adoption, market access and international cooperation.

Through the initiative, CCI India seeks to facilitate meaningful dialogue, knowledge exchange and business collaboration within the electric mobility ecosystem. The event will provide a platform for stakeholders to share perspectives, understand emerging market opportunities and explore partnerships across India and international markets. Particular emphasis will be placed on strengthening commercial and technological linkages between India and Africa and identifying opportunities for Indian companies to participate in the growing global electric mobility ecosystem.

Note from Mr. Munindra Kumar, Director General, CCI India

“Electric mobility offers significant opportunities for innovation, investment and international collaboration. This Round Table is not merely a discussion, but an intent to facilitate meaningful partnerships and work towards signing 20 MoUs in the EV domain, either during the event or subsequently. These collaborations will focus on manufacturing, charging infrastructure, technology, components and market expansion, particularly across India and Africa.”
