22 January 2019 : Anritsu Corporation is pleased to announce that its 5G NR RF Conformance Test System ME7873NR has won world-first approval for 5G NR RF Conformance tests from the Global Certification Forum (GCF).

5G services have already started from late 2018 in parts of North America and South Korea and widespread commercial rollout is expected from 2019, centering on advanced nations. Commercial deployment of 5G mobile terminals requires GCF-approved conformance test systems, which are a critical requirement for early rollout of 5G mobile services by national mobile operators.

Anritsu’s ME7873NR is registered with GCF as the 5G NR RF/RRM Test Platform TP250 and won world-first approval for 5G NR Sub-6 GHz NSA from GCF at the January 2019 CAG meeting. Winning future SA and mmWave frequency-band certifications will play a key role in early commercial release of 5G mobile services and terminals expected to grow from 2019.

The NR RF Conformance Test System ME7873NR is an automated system for 3GPP TS38.521/TS38.533-defined 5G NR RF/RRM tests. It supports both planned 5G NR Standalone (SA) and Non-Standalone (NSA) modes, while combination with Anritsu’s 5G over-the-air (OTA) chamber (CATR) covers all 5G frequency bands, including not only Sub-6 GHz but also mmWave. The flexible system configuration can be customized easily for the measurement conditions while also supporting LTE, LTE-Advanced (LTE-A), LTE-A Pro, and W-CDMA RF tests as well as carrier acceptance tests (CAT); an upgrade from the LTE-Advanced RF Conformance Test System ME7873LA to add 5G support offers customers a cost-effective RF test system meeting required test conditions.
