Geographic Information System (GIS) along with drone technology is transforming today’s industries including agriculture and environmental management and urban planning and disaster response in the present digital age. These advanced technologies are creating unprecedented career opportunities for young professionals, especially in India.

To help youth build strong careers in this field, AVPL International has launched GIS training in partnership with Tata STRIVE, at its Drone Skill Centre in Gurugram, where 34 students are currently undergoing training. The AVPL International-Tata STRIVE program is inclusive, and scalable and empowers youth in the latest technologies alongside soft skills enhancement to create a truly future-ready workforce.

The placement alliance formed by AVPL International includes 11 prominent employment providers who will supply job positions to trained professionals. These companies aim to hire skilled professionals who will work as GIS specialists and Data Scientists along with GIS analysts, Urban planners, and Drone-enabled GIS Monitoring experts to fill valuable positions within their organization.

AVPL International is also planning to expand GIS training programs to 12 states across India. In the coming months, training sessions will be conducted in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Gujarat, and other states through 20 World Incubation Hubs and 50 Drone Aero Vision Labs. This initiative will provide young professionals with advanced skills in GIS and drone technology, offering them better career prospects and high-paying job opportunities.

“GIS and drone technology training is not just about learning a new skill but a gateway to a brighter future. These technologies open doors to career growth and national development, benefiting both urban and rural youth. This is the perfect time to embrace the technological revolution and turn career aspirations into reality.” said Ms. Preet Sandhuu, Founder of AVPL International.

GIS and Drone Technology Are Transforming many Industries:-

  • Revolutionising Agriculture: Through combined applications of drone technology and Geographic Information System tools agriculture experiences better crop monitoring while extracting improved knowledge of soils along with improved water resource management leading to enhanced production numbers.
  • Enhancing Disaster Management: The systems function as vital components in managing floods while handling droughts and disasters.
  • Infrastructure Development: Accurate mapping and monitoring capabilities for roads and bridges alongside other projects emerge from the combination of GIS with drones.
  • Effective Urban Planning: Smart city initiatives receive essential help from these technologies which help organizations improve their planning systems and develop transportation networks.
  • Mining and Environmental Conservation: The mining industry applies Geographic Information Systems technology to handle resource management together with environmental protection practices.

With the rising value of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and drone technology the demand for skilled professionals is growing rapidly. At the Global Investors Summit 2025 (GIS 2025) in Madhya Pradesh, investment proposals worth ₹22 lakh crore were received, which are expected to generate over 13 lakh jobs. The major growth of renewable energy alongside urban development mineral resources and tourism will open numerous career opportunities for GIS-trained professionals.

For youth, this is a golden opportunity to build a successful career in a fast-growing field. By acquiring expertise in GIS and drone technology, young professionals can secure well-paying jobs in various industries, including agriculture, disaster management, smart city projects, and infrastructure development. With the increasing demand for GIS specialists, this field promises long-term career growth and financial stability.
