In continuous support of the Make in India initiative, Drone Planet, India’s leading Drone solutions Initiative, has launched the Drone-as-a-Service (DaaS) platform to connect drone entrepreneurs, drone pilots, and fleet owners with DAAS opportunities. Aiming to onboard over 200 local Service Providers by 2025, Drone Planet is empowering India’s drone ecosystem to capitalize on the market opportunity, which is growing at a CAGR of 20.4% and is expected to reach ₹40,000 crores by 2030.

As many D2C and e-commerce aggregators have revolutionized food, shopping, and relevant verticals, Drone Planet is the answer for India’s growing demand for Drone-as-a-Service (DaaS). This new platform will grant significant advantages to manufacturers, including access to the network of over 20,000 buyers from various sectors. Manufacturers benefit from zero-cost marketplace access, demand generation, and a dropshipping model that eliminates inventory or capital overheads by enabling direct shipping to buyers. Drone Planet is also working on the government’s ‘Drone Didi’ scheme to train 6,500+ pilots by 2025, creating opportunities for onboarded local drone manufacturers, training institutes, and component manufacturers..

Our mission with Drone Planet is to give wings to local manufacturers and service providers, extending their reach beyond their immediate networks,” said Preet Sandhuu, Promoter of Drone Planet. “By creating a seamless ecosystem, we aim to elevate India’s self-sufficiency in the drone sector, enabling buyers to explore a diverse range of options tailored to their needs.”

Drone Planet supports drone industry by providing access to DGCA-trained pilots through the network of 31 Remote Pilot Training Organizations (RPTOs), onboarded on the platform, for seamless drone operations. Additionally, the platform will soon connect local manufacturers with financial institutions to help secure funding for their Drone Sales.

The DaaS platform is designed to provide a seamless ‘single-window’ solution for both Service Seekers and Providers. Service seekers can easily compare and aggregate services to meet their specific needs, while service providers can source components directly from manufacturers listed on the platform. Project and Service hosts will be categorized under Rental, Inspection, Aerial Survey, Agriculture, Photography, Surveillance, etc categories. This will create a dynamic marketplace that benefits all stakeholders in the drone ecosystem.

Drone Planet’s long-term growth plan includes onboarding as many manufacturers, system integrators and service providers, expanding Drone-as-a-Service operations to many businesses including agri, surveillance, survey, mapping, mining, monitoring, etc. and also expand to International markets.. The platform envisions automating its processes and establishing a presence in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Western markets by 2028, with India being the back-office for the entire operation.
