Huawei features yet again as a Leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Primary Storage, September 2023. The report from Gartner marks the eighth year in a row since 2016 that Huawei has been named a Leader.
Huawei’s primary storage has made significant improvements over 2022, especially in the following four aspects.
Ultimate reliability: Huawei storage leverages front-end interconnect I/O modules using NVMe over RoCE, innovating the use of NoF technology in enterprise setups. In addition, Huawei’s primary storage provides a geo-redundant 4DC disaster recovery (DR) solution that runs on gateway-free active-active design and cross-site asynchronous replication, to deliver 99.99999% reliability and improve resource utilization of the DR center.
Multicloud ecosystem: Huawei storage ensures applications are seamlessly protected across industry’s mainstream container platforms, be it Kubernetes, OpenShift, or Rancher, delivering a cloud-native foundation while supporting data backup and tiering to clouds to facilitate implementation and operations of enterprise cloud strategies.
Data resilience: Huawei storage delivers multilayer ransomware protection (MRP), the industry’s first technology using ransomware detection, storage encryption, Air Gap, secure snapshots, and WORM, etc. Its three core capabilities of accurate detection, comprehensive protection, and rapid recovery build the last line for defense and ensure uninterrupted business operations.
AIOps intelligent management: Huawei DME intelligent data management platform runs on three-layer AI architecture to monitor resources on a single page and deliver capabilities like service provisioning, intelligent O&M, and data management. DME provides AI-powered workload analysis, trend prediction, and anomaly diagnosis to ensure O&M quality and offers quick search and smooth cross-domain sharing and migration that optimizes data retrieval efficiency and storage costs.
Huawei OceanStor Dorado all-flash storage has expanded its businesses scope across 150 countries and regions in Latin America, Europe, Middle East, and Asia Pacific, etc., and delivered services for customers in fields like finance, carriers, manufacturing, healthcare, government, and public affairs.
For the past decade, Huawei storage has released all-flash storage products that combine excellent technologies such as FlashLink end-to-end acceleration, SmartMatrix full-mesh architecture, and integrated SAN and NAS to help customers efficiently address issues of elasticity, scalability, and continuity. Looking forward, Huawei will work non-stop to release solutions that boost management efficiency, storage performance, and reliability with innovation and to be the first choice in data infrastructure.
