December 5, 2018 – Mouser Electronics, is now stocking PolarFire field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) from Microsemi. The flash-based, mid-range PolarFire FPGAs deliver 300K logic elements at up to 50 percent lower power consumption than equivalent SRAM-based FPGAs. The devices offer best-in-class security, single event upset (SEU)-immune fabric, and serializer/deserializer (SerDes) performance for a variety of applications in the communications, defense, aviation, industrial automation, and Internet of Things (IoT) markets.
The Microsemi PolarFire FPGAs, available from Mouser Electronics, provide cost-effective bandwidth processing capabilities for the increasing number of converged 10 Gbps ports with the lowest power footprint. The devices integrate the non-volatile FPGA fabric, 12.7 Gbps transceiver performance, 1.6 Gbps differential inputs and outputs (I/Os), hardened security IP, and a cryptographic processor. The 28 nm CMOS silicon features power optimization combined with the lowest static power for mid-range density FPGAs, while the Flash*Freeze mode yields even lower standby power.
Mouser also stocks the Microsemi PolarFire evaluation kit, designed to help engineers evaluate a broad class of applications such as high-speed transceiver evaluation, 10Gb Ethernet, IEEE1588, JESD204B, SyncE, and SATA. The kit connections include a high-pin-count FPGA mezzanine card (FMC), six SMAs, PCIe edge connector, Dual Gigabit Ethernet connectors, SFP+ cage, and USB-to-UART terminal.
The kit ships with a one-year Gold Software License, which includes the Libero SoC PolarFire Design Suite of comprehensive, easy-to-learn, easy-to-adopt development tools. The suite integrates industry-standard Synopsys Synplify Pro synthesis and Mentor Graphics ModelSim simulation with best-in-class constraints management and debug capabilities.
