Baumer opens up new potential in drive technology with innovative LowHarmonics encoder technology. Compact incremental magnetic ring encoder EB260 is the first product available with this revolutionary technology of signal processing. The bearingless encoder merges the precision of optical sensing with the durability and cost-efficiency of magnetic systems – and all this with minimal installation space requirements. LowHarmonics signal processing with auto-calibration eliminates signal errors due to installation, temperature, aging and mechanical factors to ensure maximum precision and control performance. The integrated air gap monitor continuously monitors the distance to the magnetic rotor. Even the slightest change by damage to machine mechanics is monitored and reported to the higher-level system.
Magnetic encoder EB260 is extremely robust thanks to the bearingless design and hermetically encapsulated electronics. Operation is entirely free from wear, there is no self-heating and the encoder is immune to shaft currents, strong shocks and shaft movements. Flexible shaft diameters and a mere 11 mm installation depth enable particularly compact integration and together with the outstanding measuring precision open up an innovative application potential in drive technology.
Another benefit of the space-saving high-performance encoder is configuration flexibility. This software behind is the intuitive Baumer Sensor Suite, the configurable motion monitor and switching output as well as square-wave, sine/cosine and IO-Link interfaces.
With EB260, Baumer is further filing its claim in maximum customer benefit as a technology leader. The innovative encoder series EB260 and EB260F adds another product family with pioneering technology for smart automation to the unrivalled broad Baumer encoder portfolio.
