NORD DRIVESYSTEMS will present its drive solutions for the industry at the world’s leading trade fair for water, wastewater, waste and raw materials management from 13 to 17 May 2024 in Munich.

Distributing drinking water, conveying wastewater, circulating activated sludge: Pumps, mixing and agitating systems complete important tasks in environmental technology. They have to meet high demands: High performance, robustness, availability, reliability, longevity and also energy efficiency are required. NORD DRIVESYSTEMS drive solutions meet these requirements.

As a system supplier, the company offers fully matched drive systems consisting of gear unit, motor and frequency inverter that are tailored to the respective requirements of the customer application. NORD drive solutions can be networked, operate autonomously, and their functions and performance are scalable.

Drive solutions for various applications

MAXXDRIVE industrial gear units easily move large masses in agitating and mixing applications thanks to their high power density, reliability and long service life. They offer high output torques from 15 to 282 kNm and ensure reliable operation even under extreme conditions. Their FEM-optimised, compact design in a UNICASE housing ensures maximum strength and rigidity.

With its efficiency, the NORD IE5+ synchronous motor even exceeds the highest defined efficiency class and is perfect for conveyor and pump applications. It features a compact and hygienic design in a very small space and ensures high corrosion resistance and easy cleaning.

Even greater system efficiency is offered by the patented DuoDrive geared motor which features an IE5+ motor integrated into a single-stage helical gear unit. With a system efficiency of up to 92%, the wash-down-capable geared motor has one of the highest efficiencies on the market in this power class, and also achieves very high efficiency in partial load operation. Together with simple plug-and-play commissioning, this results in a significant reduction in the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) compared to other drive systems.

Adapting pumps to different requirements

The decentralised frequency inverters from NORD are particularly suitable for controlling pump applications. They provide significant advantages: They save space in control cabinets, reduce costs for wiring and cable, simplify maintenance and therefore increase the efficiency of the entire drive system. Actuating the pump drives via frequency inverters allows for the selection of different pump characteristics by simple parameter changes. The parameter sets are directly stored in the inverter and pumps can be adapted to different media, flow rates or process requirements.

NORD also delivers numerous drive components as explosion-protected ATEX versions. The company is a long-term certified manufacturer and has many year’s experience with explosion-protected drive technology.
