New Delhi- The Electronics Sector Skill Council of India (ESSCI), an organization setup to provide a skilled workforce for the Electronics industry, today announced the appointment of Mr. PVG Menon as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Mr Menon is an industry leader with vast experience in the ESDM sector. He brings with him an excellent combination of domain knowledge, and business and consulting experience. In his role as CEO of ESSCI, Mr. Menon would be responsible for overseeing the operations of ESSCI, and will work closely with its Governing Council on strategic issues related to the growth of the Electronic Systems Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) industry in India. The appointment follows the superannuation of the previous CEO.
“ESSCI is a strong contributor to fulfilling the skilling needs of the vibrant ESDM sector in India. We work closely with industry, the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and the Ministry of Skill Development, and our line Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY) to provide both skilling and re-skilling services to the industry. Over the years, we have successfully skilled over a million professionals for the ESDM industry and have a wide footprint across India. Our search for the new CEO was focused on ensuring we have the right leadership to achieve all our goals for the ESDM sector. We are also looking at raising the bar for skill development for this sector, so as to achieve global quality training, and make it available in India. We welcome Mr. PVG Menon on board and wish him the best as he assumes this important mantle,” said Dr. Ajai Chowdhry, Chairman, ESSCI and Founder HCL.
Commenting on his new role, Mr. PVG Menon said, “The ESDM industry is one of the fastest growing sectors of the Indian economy and has huge potential to add significant value to the country. Prior to taking up this role, Mr. PVG Menon was the President & CEO VANN Consulting Pvt. Ltd. and has over three decades of experience in the development, marketing and management of technology. Before that, Mr. Menon has led the India Electronics and Semiconductor Association (IESA) and also has rich industry experience in the electronics and semiconductor industry. Mr. Menon also serves on the Executive Council of the Advanced Computing and Communications Society of India (ACCS) and is an active contributor to major industry initiatives.
