Quectel Wireless Solutions announced that the Quectel FGH100M Wi-Fi HaLow module has received a 2024 IoT Evolution Product of the Year Award from IoT Evolution World, the leading Web site covering IoT technologies.
Wi-Fi HaLow introduces a low power connectivity option that, in contrast to other Wi-Fi options, offers greater range of approximately 1km. This opens up a raft of IoT use cases, especially for small campus-based deployments such as academic and research institutions, industrial sites and offices. In addition, a wide range of industrial, smart city and smart building and agricultural applications can be supported.
The FGH100M Wi-Fi HaLow module offers long-range data transmission, low power consumption, reduced complexity, and enhanced penetration through walls and other obstructions, catering to a wide range of IoT applications. Utilizing the IEEE 802.11ah wireless networking protocol, known as Wi-Fi HaLow, and operating in the license-exempt Sub-1GHz range, the FGH100M module is designed to meet the specific needs of the Internet of Things (IoT).
