New Delhi : Skye Air Mobility, a Drone Delivery logistics firm with headquarters at New Delhi is changing the face of businesses as it continues to achieve its key milestones cutting across diverse sectors such as healthcare, diagnostics, ecommerce and agri-commodity.
The tech start-up which recently completed its 1000 deliveries via its flagship Skye Ship One, last Friday has achieved several key milestones. Skye Air marks a milestone of 1000 flights in 6months; making India the 12th nation in the world to lead the drone delivery space. This is a step forward for the entire industry towards making India a Global Drone Hub by 2030.
Some notable ones which have made a buzz have been its association with the Telangana Government’s ‘Medicine from the Sky project’. Skye Air under different consortiums– Flipkart Air consortium, Blue Dart Med Express Consortium & Dunzo Med-Air Consortium, enabled an all-round ecosystem for drone based logistic transportation. These flights were a part of the live demonstration trials conducted in real-time with vaccines, covid diagnostic samples and medicines in Vikarabad (Telangana).
Further adding a feather in the cap, Skye Air has been the first drone delivery company from India which has showcased Indigenised drones at the Dubai Air Show marking a defined space for India in the drone logistics ecosystem globally.
Skye Air Mobility also transported 100 kgs of Lakadong turmeric in hard to reach area in remote parts of Meghalaya. Skye Air demonstrated multiple autonomous BVLoS flight lifting a combined payload of 100 kgs of dry turmeric. The flights took place with Skye Air’s flagship product “Skye Ship One” and “Atlantis”.
Skye Air has successfully showcased its capability and products at the Drone Mela, Dharamshala which has organised by Himachal Govt. It demonstrated autonomous BVLOS flight from SAI Sports Ground to Medical College Hospital (Tanda) covering a distance of nearly 12 km (aerial) in Himachal Pradesh. The flights were geared with vaccines and medicines by its customized small category drone named Skye Ship One. The aim was to showcase the efficiency of drones, how life-saving medical items such as blood, vaccines and medicines can be delivered faster as compared to roads.
Furthermore, the drone delivery start-up has joined hands with the diagnostics chain, Redcliffe Labs to take healthcare & pathology services to remote areas of the country using drone technology. The start-up has penetrated different urban, semi-urban and remote corners of the country using drone delivery technology. The First set of BVLOS trials showcased faster supply chain for diagnostic sample delivery leading to quicker diagnostic results successfully kicked off in Noida, Greater Noida and Meerut.

Most of the 1000 autonomous BVLOS flights, equipped with different consignments such as turmeric supplies, grocery items, medicines, diagnostics samples have also been India’s first delivery via drones and has also set a major step forward in enabling drone deliveries to be the future for these sectors.
