“As we anticipate the Union Budget 2024, I urge the GOI to introduce policies and reforms that promote community building and foster collaboration within the rapidly expanding tech industry. These measures will not only drive innovation and deliver stronger outcomes across the ecosystem but also contribute significantly to our nation-building efforts, aligning with our ambitious goal of becoming a developed economy by 2047. Enhanced policy reforms and public health initiatives will ensure that our workforce is fully prepared to drive this growth.”

Aakrit Vaish, Co-chair, TEAM and CEO, Haptik

“I am optimistic that the upcoming union budget will provide the much-needed impetus to our rapidly growing tech ecosystem in the city. In order for us to fully harness the potential of AI innovations, startups require robust, supportive policies that streamline regulatory processes and enhance access to funding. Investment in digital infrastructure and dedicated skill development programs will be critical. By fostering an environment that encourages innovation and supports emerging technologies, the government can drive substantial growth and solidify Mumbai’s position as a global tech hub.”

Naiyya Saggi, GC Member, TEAM & Co-founder, Good Glamm Group & Founder, Baby Chakra

“As the government continues to prioritize women empowerment as a key focus area for the upcoming Union Budget, it is imperative that the country makes some meaningful improvements towards having more women entrepreneurs & creators of technology. Therefore, we urge the government to introduce progressive taxation structures and financing for venture funds/ private equity that invest in women led ventures. Moreover the Indian Govt has an unprecedented opportunity in that Indian women entering stem is the highest percentage globally. To ensure the proportion remains competitive it is essential that women stay on and pursue leadership roles in Tech. Hence the government should provide stronger incentives & subsidies for initiatives that help startups to retain women talent through and post maternity.”
