India is rapidly moving towards a sustainable infrastructure which encompasses a variety of development schemes related to social welfare, cleantech- clean energy and clean water. Safe and pure drinking water is something which the country is aiming to provide by ensuring drinking water supply and sanitation facilities in the rural areas. Today, corporates are taking a lead in adopting sustainable practices for a better world. Many of them are developing as well as adopting newer technologies that mitigates the water crisis.
With the country struggling to get access to potable water, we are yet to address a lesser known yet interesting fact that water is simply present in an untapped source- that is the air around us, in the form of moisture or humidity in the air. It is free and easily accessible to all; we just have to extract it for multiple uses. One such technology that is becoming extremely popular in the present scenario is Atmospheric Water Generators or AWGs. AWGs provide a new and untapped source of unlimited water, namely the air we breathe as it extracts fresh, clean, and safe drinking water from the atmosphere surrounding us.
India is home to 16% of the world’s population, but only holds 4% of the world’s freshwater resources. This paves the way for extreme cases of groundwater depletion and pollution. The use of AWGs will also aid in resolving this issue by completely eliminating the use of groundwater in their water production process.
Watergen, as a brand, keeps its commitment to mitigate India’s drinking water crisis through its AWG technology. It also has a globally patented technology- GENius that was introduced in India through a strategic partnership with the SMV Jaipuria Group, a multifaceted business conglomerate. The patented GENius heat exchange technology is at the heart of Watergen’s AWG product line. It makes use of the humidity in the air by first purifying it before passing it through the Patented Heat Exchanger made of Food Grade Polymer. The resulting water goes through five stages of purification and mineralization. The technology filters the air drawn from the atmosphere, removing dust, dirt, and pollutants up to PM2.5, providing an additional benefit of air purification. The clean air is then condensed into water by its GENius heat exchanger and cooling process. To improve water quality, Watergen purifies it and passes it through mineralization filters. It is then subjected to a UV treatment, which kills microorganisms and decomposes harmful chemicals. The end result is water that is completely fresh, clean, safe, and mineralized, with a pH between 6.5 and 7.5. Further, the purified water stored in the tank passes again through the filters every 4 hours, providing absolutely fresh, clean and safe water.
Even in regions with humidity levels as low as 20%, Watergen machines can produce drinking water- anywhere and at any time. Furthermore, it is not just plastic-free but also reduces plastic consumption by eliminating the need to buy water bottles. AWG water is Fresh, Clean and Safe as it is freshly created from air and has no risk of harmful chemicals, pesticides, heavy metals etc.
Watergen, with devices deployed in more than 90 countries worldwide, is playing an important role in meeting these countries’ water needs. Water scarcity is a persistent issue in India, affecting a large portion of the population as most Indians remain without access to a consistent and reliable supply of fresh and clean water for their daily needs. By using Watergen’s AWG technology citizens can be rest-assured and enjoy a reliable source of potable water.
