Aaronia, presented its new power meters for frequencies up to 1.1 THz, high-performance real-time spectrum analyzers, and individually configurable rugged tablets at European Microwave Week (EuMW) 2026 in London. The company reports a positive outcome from its trade fair appearance from October 6 to 8. A highlight was the SPARK signal generator and its potential use for controlling quantum computers.

The new power meters for the DC range up to 1.1 THz, in conjunction with the XPS-WR series waveguide CW power sensors, have been very well received. The sensors can be connected either to the power meter’s base station or directly to a PC via USB and operated with the RTSA Suite PRO. “With our new class of devices, developers, for example, can determine the actual output power of terahertz signal sources and components and more precisely verify their performance,” explains Peter May, Technical Director of Aaronia AG.

Rugged tablet for system integrators

Another key focus was the new rugged tablet, which can be specifically adapted to individual measurement and testing tasks thanks to a special expansion slot. Unlike conventional tablets, system integrators can integrate additional modules. “This allows for customized solutions for a wide variety of tasks based on extremely fast, high-performance hardware,” said May. In addition to classic expansion options such as additional SSD storage and WLAN and Bluetooth adapters, the rugged tablet offers a freely accessible installation bay. Various commercially available sensors and other hardware components can be integrated here.

This allows the tablet to be configured for various industrial applications without being limited to a predefined hardware configuration. Aaronia also announced a rugged laptop with comparable customization options. Peter May emphasizes the features of the product family: “Our flexibly customizable rugged models were particularly impressive due to the well-rounded package of powerful hardware, a weatherproof aluminum housing, and extensive options for individual configurations.”

The SPECTRAN V6 series, in conjunction with the RTSA Suite PRO, was also a highlight at the Aaronia booth. These USB real-time spectrum analyzers achieve real-time bandwidths of up to 490 MHz and sweep speeds of more than 3,000 GHz/s. Various solutions are based on this technical platform, ranging from continuous spectrum monitoring and signal detection to geolocation and the AARTOS drone detection system.

SPARK: Looking to the future

In parallel, the SPARK vector and DDS signal generator was the focus of numerous discussions. Depending on the version, the device family covers frequencies up to 20 GHz and operates with 16-bit digital-to-analog converters and sampling rates up to 40 GSPS. The technology is suitable, among other things, for controlling superconducting quantum processors. This requires controlling individual qubits, the fundamental units of information in a quantum computer, with highly precise high-frequency signals. SPARK can generate defined signal waveforms with a temporal resolution of 25 picoseconds, thus supporting the targeted control of qubits. The device is also ideally suited for signal generation and reading out their states.
