Delhi-based AI startup Braneum has launched Kara, an AI chief-of-staff that helps businesses organize work, track commitments, and manage teams directly through WhatsApp.
Kara went live on July 28, one day before Google announced Gemini Spark for India, as AI agents become the next focus area for global technology companies. While many AI assistants are built to answer questions or support individuals, Braneum says Kara is designed to help entire teams stay aligned by remembering commitments, tracking follow-ups, and managing day-to-day operations.
Unlike conventional AI assistants, Kara is built around a shared team memory. It keeps track of who committed to what, what has changed, and what is overdue across the business, giving owners and employees a single source of context instead of separate conversations.
The AI also works proactively by sending morning briefings, end-of-day summaries, commitment reminders, email insights, and task follow-ups without waiting for prompts.
Built entirely inside WhatsApp, Kara requires no additional app and supports English, Hindi, and Hinglish.
“Every AI assistant on the market today is a brilliant employee with amnesia. It forgets you the moment the chat ends, and it never speaks unless spoken to,” said Kumar Abhishek, Founder and Chief Product Architect at Braneum. “A real chief-of-staff doesn’t work that way. They hold the whole team’s context in their head, and they walk into your office before you call them. That’s what we built. Kara doesn’t answer your questions. Kara runs your day.”
Braneum says Kara is built on an engineering philosophy it calls behavioral conscience, enabling the AI to understand when to take action, when to ask for guidance, and when to stay silent. The company adds that business owners remain in control of the AI’s actions, and customer data is never used to train AI models.
Kara is now available for individuals, startups, and businesses across India. The company is offering the first month free, followed by individual and team subscription plans.
