EnOcean has launched the STM 600, a next-generation sensor transceiver designed to power high-performance, secure, and energy-efficient wireless sensors. It combines significantly greater processing power and application memory with enhanced radio performance and support for the latest EnOcean Alliance security specifications. That makes the STM 600 a powerful platform for advanced sensor solutions built on EnOcean technology.

More computing power, more room for innovation.

The STM 600 provides substantially more processing power and application memory than previous generations. It enables more sophisticated sensor functionality and provides headroom for evolving and increasingly complex application requirements. Despite its enhanced performance, the transceiver requires less circuit board space than previous generations. Like the TCM 615, its compact size suits applications with tight space constraints.

“The STM 600 combines the performance, flexibility and security required for the next generation of energy-harvesting sensors. Its increased computing resources enable manufacturers to develop differentiated applications. At the same time, the new transceiver maintains a compact design and the low energy consumption essential for battery-free operation,” says Matthias Kassner, Vice President Product Marketing at EnOcean.

Security by design, greater range, lower energy demand

Security is at the core of the STM 600. Dedicated hardware acceleration ensures secure wireless communication and firmware updates in line with the latest EnOcean Alliance security standards. This blend of processing power, built-in security, and low energy use allows developers to create robust, future-proof sensor solutions without sacrificing efficiency.

“With the STM 600 we deliver higher transmit power while significantly reducing energy consumption during both transmission and reception. This combination improves communication reliability and extends radio range while minimizing the energy required to transmit sensor data. It enables the development of compact, energy-harvesting sensors designed for reliable, maintenance-free operation without batteries”, states Kassner.

A flexible platform for differentiated sensor solutions

As a programmable sensor transceiver, the STM 600 enables manufacturers to integrate application-specific functionality with EnOcean wireless technology. It supports a broad range of sensor applications, including occupancy, air quality, energy consumption, temperature, humidity, light level and contact status. “With the STM 600, we are expanding the possibilities for energy-harvesting sensors. Its combination of higher performance, integrated security, extended range, and lower energy consumption provides a strong foundation for innovative sensor designs. At the same time, it reinforces our commitment to secure, sustainable wireless connectivity across the EnOcean Alliance ecosystem”, concludes Kassner.
