IBASE Technology, a leading global manufacturer of industrial-grade embedded and edge computing platforms, has officially received IEC 62443-4-1 certification from SGS, a globally recognized testing, inspection, and certification organization. The certification confirms that IBASE has established a secure product development and lifecycle management process aligned with international standards, systematically integrating cybersecurity requirements into every stage of product development, including requirements definition, design, development, verification, maintenance, and security updates. This achievement further strengthens product security, reliability, and long-term support, enabling IBASE to deliver more secure, stable, and trusted industrial computing solutions to customers worldwide.
IEC 62443 is an international cybersecurity standard for industrial automation, control systems, and operational technology environments. IEC 62443-4-1 focuses on the secure product development lifecycle, covering security requirements, secure design, software development, verification, vulnerability management, updates, and end-of-life processes. To meet the standard, IBASE strengthened its product development framework with systematic risk assessment, threat analysis, secure design reviews, source code management, vulnerability handling, and security update mechanisms. By integrating cybersecurity throughout the development lifecycle, IBASE can identify and mitigate risks more effectively while enhancing product resilience against evolving cyber threats.
“As industrial equipment, edge computing systems, and critical infrastructure become increasingly connected, cybersecurity has become a key consideration in both product design and customers’ solution evaluations,” said Albert Lee, President of IBASE. “Achieving IEC 62443-4-1 certification marks an important milestone in our ongoing efforts to strengthen product cybersecurity governance. We have integrated cybersecurity principles throughout the entire product lifecycle and established consistent, traceable security management processes, from requirements definition and product development to ongoing maintenance and support. These measures help our customers build more secure industrial computing solutions that comply with international standards and support long-term operations, while further strengthening IBASE’s corporate management, information security, and product quality systems.”
Building on its IEC 62443-4-1 certification, IBASE will continue strengthening its secure product development, vulnerability management, product update, and incident response processes. To address the requirements of the European Union Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), the company has established a Product Security Incident Response Team (PSIRT) to enhance vulnerability management, security notification, and incident response mechanisms. These efforts will further advance IBASE’s cybersecurity governance in alignment with EU CRA requirements and enable the delivery of more secure and reliable industrial computing solutions that address evolving international regulatory standards.
