December 28, 2018 – Mouser Electronics is now stocking the ZWIR4532 6LoWPAN communications module from IDT. Incorporating an Arm microcontroller, a sub-GHz radio transceiver, and optional license-free IDT firmware download, the module enable sensors and other small devices to operate autonomously or connect to local or global IPv6 networks.

The IDT ZWIR4532 communication module, available from Mouser Electronics, is a secure, programmable connectivity module based on an ultra-low-power 32-bit Arm Cortex-M0+ microcontroller with 128 Kbytes of flash and 4 Kbytes of RAM. The FCC-certified module provides critical and secure 6LoWPAN wireless connectivity to link devices to the Internet of Things (IoT). The module can create self-healing, ad-hoc mesh networks for covering large areas and long ranges, and features secure connectivity based on the IPSec protocol suite.

The ZWIR4532 module is available with optional IDT SensorShare™ firmware — a 6LoWPAN open standard stack that communicates natively with IPv6 over IEEE 802.15.4 radio links. The firmware has no associated license fees or royalties, allowing engineers to focus on their applications without the burden of building IoT solutions from the ground up.

The ZWIR4532 communication module has a supply voltage of 1.8 V to 3.3 V, with a network stack designed to consume minimal power in active mode. The module provides an ultra-low-power suspend mode, which turns off the transceiver and most microcontroller peripherals to lower total power consumption to less than 1 µA for battery-powered devices. The IDT ZWIR4532 6LoWPAN communications module is ideal for industrial and home automation, health monitoring, and telemetry applications.
