LPU, a renowned institution at the forefront of technological advancements, is going to present its groundbreaking project featuring a Fully Autonomous Hybrid VTOL UAV. This cutting-edge drone prototype developed by the team (Nikkisha, Vivek, Virla Akash, Rohan, Sai Venkat, Pranav, Dhruv Sharma) of the department of student research and innovation, is set to redefine the capabilities of unmanned aerial vehicles and revolutionize the field of drone technology.

Compact, measuring just 1.5 meters, UAV is equipped with five propellers and offers an impressive range of 5 km. The drone’s design has been meticulously crafted to enhance its performance and capabilities, ensuring unparalleled adaptability and versatility. 

Vertical take off and landing

One of its key features is the Vertical Takeoff and Landing (VTOL) capability, allowing the UAV to operate in confined spaces where traditional drones face limitations. To further optimize efficiency and VTOL capability, the UAV is equipped with a wing turning mechanism that seamlessly transitions it from a horizontal to a vertical position.

Autonomous flight capability

 Its autonomous flight capability enables it to operate independently, leveraging advanced artificial intelligence and sensor technologies to navigate and complete complex missions with precision and reliability, eliminating the need for human intervention.

Seamless combination of a pentacopter and a UAV

The seamless combination of a pentacopter and a UAV offers the stability and maneuverability of a pentacopter coupled with the extended range and endurance of a fixed-wing aircraft, providing enhanced operational flexibility and efficiency.
