TimesTech: How is Microsense reshaping India’s digital infrastructure landscape, and what milestones highlight this journey such as deployments, cities served, or total connected spaces?
Sujit: With a 40-year old legacy, Microsense has been at the forefront of building India’s digital connectivity backbone. We have several industry firsts to our credit from implementing the country’s first Wi-Fi in the hospitality sector in the year 2000, to enabling remote connectivity in the Indian banking sector, launching South Asia’s first cloud Wi-Fi services, and deploying India’s first private airport Wi-Fi network.
Today, Microsense provides managed Wi-Fi services across hotels, university campuses, malls, retail spaces, large enterprises, and IT parks in over 70 cities, covering more than 160 million sq. ft. of connected space. We are the market leaders in Wi-Fi solutions for the hospitality sector, powering digital connectivity across 70% of India’s leading hospitality brands, both domestic and international.
TimesTech: Microsense has built a strong reputation in managed Wi-Fi and in-building solutions. What key achievements or metrics set you apart from others in this space?
Sujit: What sets Microsense apart is our unwavering commitment to service quality and customer experience. Our network designs are built for scalability, ensuring that customer investments are future-ready and protected.
As a Class A ISP, we maintain uptime levels exceeding 99.9% across all managed networks and operate with a 24×7 digital customer support team. Our proactive, analytics-driven network monitoring enables us to identify and address potential issues before they impact users.
Our proven track record includes hosting secure, high-performance network setups for the U.S. Presidential delegations and delivering seamless, zero-latency connectivity for the Chess Olympiad hosted twice in India, recognized by the Indian Chess Board. We’ve also powered real-time global online auctions with complex, high-speed data demands, ensuring uninterrupted participation from bidders worldwide.

TimesTech: How is Microsense enabling smart and connected ecosystems in sectors like healthcare, hospitality, education, and enterprise real estate and can you share examples of the impact created?
Sujit: Microsense’s core strength lies in building foundational digital infrastructure that enables organizations to become truly smart, connected, and data-driven.
- Hospitality: We have long been a trusted technology partner to leading luxury hotel brands, providing end-to-end managed Wi-Fi that supports smart room controls, contactless check-ins, personalized content streaming, and centralized property management analytics. This has resulted in higher guest satisfaction, reduced operational costs, and brand-wide consistency in digital experiences.
- Education: We’ve partnered with universities to create smart campus networks that power blended learning, digital classrooms, and secure student access across large campuses. With centralized analytics, institutions gain real-time insights to enhance performance and optimize digital learning environments.
- Healthcare: Our secure, high-availability networks support telemedicine, real-time patient monitoring, and even in-room casting solutions for patient’s entertainment and personalized information (like on-call doctor updates or billing). These solutions improve care delivery, operational efficiency, and patient satisfaction.
- Retail: Our resilient, always-on networks empower real-time business operations, enabling faster customer processing and ensuring seamless digital experiences even at high-traffic outlets.
TimesTech: What challenges has Microsense faced while scaling next-gen solutions like 5G-ready infrastructure, multi-site Wi-Fi, and IoT networks, and how have you addressed them?
Sujit: Being an early mover in emerging technologies, Microsense has always stayed ahead of the curve. We actively participate in global technology forums and alliances such as the Wireless Broadband Alliance (WBA) and Hospitality Technology Next Generation, which helps us stay aligned with evolving Wi-Fi standards and best practices.
Our proactive approach has often enabled us to anticipate market trends. For instance, we predicted early on that private 5G adoption among enterprises would be slow due to high capital expenditure and unclear ROI. Therefore, we invested in Wi-Fi 6 as the next-generation connectivity standard, a move that has proven timely and effective. This foresight has allowed us to scale with minimal disruption, keeping our networks future-ready and cost-efficient.
TimesTech: Looking ahead, what are Microsense’s focus areas and innovations that will drive future growth and advance your vision of seamless digital connectivity across India?
Sujit: While there is widespread buzz around AI, at Microsense we are taking a measured, use-case-driven approach to its adoption, integrating it where it truly enhances value for customers. We’re investing in AI-driven automation for both backend operations and customer-facing applications to improve efficiency and response times.
In the hospitality sector, we’re developing integrated software and network platforms that deliver personalized guest experiences, automate routine functions, and optimize operations to boost efficiency and revenue.
The growing interest in AI is already shaping the sector, with studies indicating that over 60% of hotels and their service ecosystems plan to adopt AI to enhance efficiency and guest experiences. We see Microsense playing a central role in enabling that transformation through intelligent, connected, and experience-led digital networks.
