As demand for logistics and industrial automation grows, so does the need for reliable vision technologies. MobileDemand has adopted the Orbbec’s Gemini 335L stereo 3D camera, replacing the original solution and enhancing overall performance.

The Gemini 335L features an IP65-rated design and is powered by the MX6800 depth engine chip, enabling it to deliver stable, high-quality depth data even under challenging conditions such as reflective surfaces, strong ambient light, and dynamic scenes, allowing accurate recognition of objects and their spatial relationships.

The xPIM mobile dimensioning solution showcased at the event is purpose-built for logistics workflows. By combining stereo 3D vision with mobile devices, the system enables fast, contactless measurement of object dimensions—including irregular items, small parcels, flat objects, and pallets.

The solution supports a wide range of use cases, including freight measurement, inventory management, and warehouse slotting. It helps logistics operators improve space utilization, reduce manual errors, and increase operational efficiency.

David Chung, Logistics & Automation Sales Manager at Orbbec, said, “MobileDemand has strong expertise in rugged tablets and mobile computing. With our depth sensing technology at the chip level, we’re delivering high-performance vision capabilities and look forward to building a more robust industrial vision ecosystem together.”

Matt Miller, President and CTO at MobileDemand, said, “The flexibility of the Orbbec SDK enabled rapid integration into our xPIM and xDIM platforms. Initial testing shows improved frame rates and high measurement accuracy. As AI and edge computing continue to evolve, a reliable vision foundation will be key to sustaining performance and scalability.”

Both Orbbec and MobileDemand expressed their commitment to continuously optimizing product performance to help warehouse and logistics customers achieve more efficient automation.
