At the largest automation show in North America, Automate 2025, Orbbec, a leading provider of robotics and AI vision, announces its partnership with Connect Tech, a leading expert in embedded and edge AI computing, to provide built-in support for the Gemini 335Lg, the GMSL/FAKRA version of the industry-proven Gemini 335L stereo depth camera.
The Connect Tech Anvil Embedded System and Anvil-RX Rugged System, powered by NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin, now provide native support for Orbbec’s Gemini 335Lg, enabling high‑performance stereo‑vision systems in robotics, autonomous machines, industrial automation, and smart‑agriculture applications.
Orbbec and Connect Tech joined forces to deliver trusted hardware along with essential camera and sensor software, helping to significantly reduce overall application development time. The collaboration not only increases the variety of compute platforms to utilize with the Gemini G335Lg, but also broadens the sensor selection options for Connect Tech’s Anvil Embedded System for:
- System Integrators & OEMs in robotics looking for turnkey carrier‑board solutions that simplify hardware bring‑up and accelerate time‑to‑market.
- Embedded Vision & AI Developers leveraging the NVIDIA Jetson ecosystem for GPU‑accelerated inference and who need seamless camera interfacing via GMSL/FAKRA.
- Solution Architects innovating in industrial automation, agriculture, drones, and medical imaging, where ruggedness, IP‑rated enclosures, and flexible I/O are critical.
“We couldn’t be more pleased to partner with Connect Tech to bring their expertise in embedded and edge AI computing to stereo-vision systems powered by our Gemini 335Lg,” said Mike McSweeney, VP of Global Sales at Orbbec. “Through this partnership, we are able to not only provide our customers with an industrial-class solution, but one that is available at an affordable price point.”
The Gemini 335Lg is a rugged GMSL/FAKRA-enabled depth camera built for long-range, industrial-grade stereo vision, delivering high-accuracy 3D sensing in dynamic environments. Connect Tech’s Anvil-RX is a rugged embedded system built on NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin. Fully IP67 rated, with M12 and sealed PC connectors, this powerful edge system can be deployed for mission-critical applications in harsh environments and is ready to withstand even the most compute-intensive AI applications with its power-efficient and feature-rich design.
Connect Tech is a longstanding NVIDIA Elite Partner, working with the Jetson platform for 10 years and offering a wide array of readily available solutions for the entire platform including edge devices, carrier boards, thermal solutions, board support packages, and advanced ROS-ready platforms for robotics applications. Orbbec has been an NVIDIA Preferred Partner for a number of years also, which brings deeper integration between its advanced 3D cameras and NVIDIA’s edge AI platforms to the benefit of NVIDIA developers.
“Supporting Orbbec’s new Gemini series camera across USB, GMSL, and Ethernet interfaces strengthens our ability to provide reliable, high-performance Edge AI platforms,” said Rob Callaghan, Chief Product Officer, Connect Tech. “This collaboration enables developers a streamlined path to integrate advanced 3D vision into autonomous machines and robotics using Connect Tech systems.”
At Automate 2025, a live demo will be shown at the Orbbec booth (#9004), featuring four Gemini 335Lg (GMSL/FAKRA) cameras running on the Connect Tech Anvil, leveraging the NVIDIA AGX Orin system-on-a-module (SoM). The demo will focus on an obstacle-detection and navigation system for a large AMR, showcasing a critical use case that enables a more reliable and rugged connectivity option, as compared to USB, ensuring dependable performance in harsh, real-world deployments.
Connect Tech’s booth (#6734) will feature a real-time spatial understanding solution highlighting Physical AI principles, enabling robots to perceive and interact with environments dynamically.
