Munich, 27-Mar-2019 – The future-oriented solution from Rohde & Schwarz is now also available in VHF band III for all important digital standards and the new ATSC 3.0 transmission standard. Thanks to the purely software implementation, the R&S THV9evo enables network operators to optimally leverage the full capabilities of the standard and offers great flexibly in fulfilling future signal processing requirements. Integrated signal analysis gives the operator immediate feedback on signal quality without additional test equipment. The operator always has an overview of the operating parameters. The R&S THV9evo from Rohde & Schwarz offers network operators a future-proof solution to meet the ongoing challenge of reducing operating expenses.

The R&S THV9evo integrates the newest features that Rohde & Schwarz has developed for its transmitters over the past few years. For example, Rohde & Schwarz efficiency optimization ensures that operators benefit from maximum energy savings in every application. This feature especially proves its worth when adjusting output power or during channel changes. An intelligent algorithm, which is activated at the press of a button or adaptively, optimizes the amplifier parameters so that the transmitter operates at maximum energy efficiency. This ensures the most economical system operation at all times.

The MultiTX function allows optimal use of the often tight space in the transmitter station. A water-cooled power supply in the amplifiers ensures a longer service life and reduces both the noise level and the temperature at the transmitter site. It also reduces the cost of cooling the operating rooms, which lowers the maintenance requirements of the entire system and makes it less prone to failure.

The transmitter is unique in combining maximum efficiency of up to 50 percent with the ability to utilize the entire VHF band – thanks to Rohde & Schwarz multiband Doherty technology that further reduces operating costs.

The liquid-cooled R&S THV9evo high-power VHF transmitter covers the output power range from 1.3 kW to 30 kW. The high-power platform will be on display at NAB in South Lower Hall, booth SL6405.
