Giesecke+Devrient (G+D) will once again be represented at this year’s Mobile World Congress (MWC) with several keynote speakers and as panelist at various events. The company will focus on how the digitization of connectivity solutions can unlock the true potential of mobile devices and the IoT.

As in 2023, at MWC 2024 the focus of G+D will be on face-to-face meetings with customers, partners and the media in special meeting areas. And regardless of the touchpoint the core question being answered will be how G+D can derive real value from the IoT for the customers, clients, partners, industry and society in general. Topics will include the importance of eSIM, standardization initiatives, end-to-end solutions and full-stack approaches with a special focus on the important role satellite connectivity will play in making the world truly connected.

At MWC 2024, G+D will also be a Platinum Sponsor of two of the GSMA’s main summits, the 5G IoT Summit and the eSIM Summit. In several keynotes and panel discussions on Wednesday, February 28, G+D representatives will address trends, technological developments, innovative solutions and new ways of thinking and approaching connectivity in order to overcome the current major challenges and move toward a goal of true scalable IoT and global connectivity.

Dr. Philipp Schulte, CEO G+D Mobile Security, will open the 5G IoT Summit with his keynote “Mastering the IoT Puzzle: Securing Seamless Connectivity”. Among other things, he will present G+D’s holistic approach and simplified implementation strategies that ensure the success and profitability of IoT application scenarios.

Sam Colley, responsible for IoT product strategy at G+D, will take part in the panel discussion “Creating and Enhancing value for IoT Customers”, which will focus on the new GSMA IoT SIM specification. The main topic will be the importance of AI in managing the large amounts of data generated by the IoT.

In his eSIM Summit keynote “eSIMplify your IoT business: How to unleash full potential beyond Consumer”, Andreas Morawietz, Global Head of Connectivity and IoT Portfolio Strategy at G+D, will discuss G+D’s experience as a market leader in the consumer eSIM market. Building on this, he will highlight the benefits of eSIM management for the growing IoT segment.

In the keynote that follows, “Mastering eSIM: Why Entitlements ensure the best possible customer experience”, Morawietz and Gary Waite, Product Evangelist/Strategist at NetLync, a strategic partner of G+D, will discuss how mobile operators can prepare for a complete eSIM ecosystem that opens up new worlds of digital services. They will highlight the importance of entitlement services in improving the customer and IoT experience.

The day wraps up with the MNVO Summit where Michelle Bugner, Head of Wholesale for Connectivity and IoT at G+D, will be a speaker at the roundtable where she and other industry experts look at the technologies and strategies which MVNOs can adopt and implement in order to meet growing consumer expectations.

“Mobile World Congress is one of the most important industry events for us. It gives us the opportunity to not only present our groundbreaking solutions, technologies and services to a broad audience of industry professionals but also to providing a new way of thinking about the future of our industry. For us IoT is not just about connectivity; it’s about unlocking the business potential. To create a seamless experience for our customers, IoT connectivity, hardware, and management platforms should come together,” explains Dr. Philipp Schulte, CEO G+D Mobile Security. “As always, the topic of sustainability is very important to us. This is also reflected in our presence at the fair. As in 2023, we will forego the usual corporate gifts and instead make a donation for every meeting we host at MWC to a leading charity that works to provide clean water for people in some of the world’s poorest countries and regions.”
