Yokogawa Receives Intellectual Property Achievement Award

Yokogawa Electric Corporation announces that it has received an award for promoting open innovation from the Commissioner of the Japan Patent Office (JPO), a government agency under the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), as part of the FY2023 Intellectual Property Achievement Awards.

The Intellectual Property Achievement Awards are presented annually by the JPO to individuals who have contributed to the development, dissemination, and awareness of the intellectual property rights system, and to companies that have effectively utilized the system and contributed to its smooth operation and development.

This award recognizes Yokogawa’s efforts to promote open innovation, as evidenced by the establishment of the “Co-innovating tomorrow” corporate brand slogan on the occasion of its 100th anniversary in 2015 to express the desire to co-create value together with customers; the establishment of an open innovation organization to promote collaboration in research and development both within the company and with external entities such as research institutions, universities, and client companies and the establishment of overseas offices with open innovation functions.

Yokogawa is strengthening its intellectual property activities to differentiate itself and give it a competitive edge. Yokogawa will continue to make effective use of intellectual property rights and will engage in co-creation with multiple companies and other organizations to foster symbiosis in the industrial world and thereby contribute to the realization of a sustainable society.
