Statiq, India’s leading electric vehicle (EV) charging network, has embarked on a collaboration with Cube Stop Highway Rest Areas, to accelerate the adoption of EVs and enhance the EV charging infrastructure across highways in the country.
India has about 63.73 lakh km of road network, which is the second largest in the world, and the surge in vehicle ownership and usage has become increasingly apparent in recent years. This rapid growth in vehicular traffic has brought with it a myriad of environmental challenges, prominently among them being carbon emissions. However, by transitioning to electric vehicles, India has the opportunity to substantially reduce its environmental footprint and combat pollution. Unlike traditional internal combustion engine vehicles, EVs produce zero tailpipe emissions, offering a cleaner and greener transportation alternative.
Under this collaboration, Statiq will install state-of-the-art EV charging stations at multiple Cube Stop Highway Rest Areas, commencing with the flagship location in Anantapur on the Hyderabad-Bengaluru Highway (NH44). These charging stations will be open to the public, catering to a wide range of vehicles, including 4-wheelers and heavy vehicles such as trucks and buses. With Cube Stop’s strategic presence along the country’s major highways, the partnership promises to extend the accessibility of EV charging facilities to a broader demographic of EV customers, eliminating the range anxiety to take long intercity trips.

Statiq has already deployed 7,000 chargers across tier 1, tier 2, and tier 3 cities in India, with ambitious plans to scale up to 20,000 EV charging points by 2025.
