TimesTech: Can you elaborate on the specifics of the INR 500 crores investment in Chennai, particularly how the funds will be allocated towards AI and Edge Computing, infrastructure, and innovation?
Rajesh: Our investment in Chennai reflects our commitment to India’s growth. This funding will enhance our capabilities in edge computing, edge intelligence, and securing connected devices, building on our work since 2008. These areas are vital for advancing AI and machine learning, demonstrated by our recent initiatives with the TinyML Foundation and the release of ModelNova, a hub for the latest Edge AI models and use cases.
TimesTech: What are the primary factors driving embedUR’s decision to expand its headcount in Chennai, and how does the company plan to achieve its hiring targets for 2024 and 2025?
Rajesh: embedUR’s decision to expand its headcount in Chennai is driven by several key factors. India’s robust educational system produces a significant number of engineers, providing a vast pool of human capital. Coupled with a young and increasingly affluent population, the demand for advanced technology is on the rise. Our strategic presence in Silicon Valley, combined with the rich talent in India, positions us to support our global customers effectively.
To achieve our hiring targets for 2024 and 2025, we plan to leverage our long-standing relationships with top colleges in Tamil Nadu. We are committed to nurturing this talent by investing heavily in both technical learning and development and essential soft skills such as communication, problem-solving, and articulation. Our objective is to develop engineers who not only possess technical expertise but can also clearly communicate solutions, fostering effective collaboration and enhancing customer interactions.
As we continue to grow in India, we remain dedicated to driving innovation and meeting the evolving technological needs of our clients worldwide.
TimesTech: With embedUR’s expertise in IoT, networking, cloud, edge computing, and AI, can you provide examples of innovative products or solutions that have had a significant impact on your clients’ businesses?
Rajesh: One example is our work with a major service provider to optimise Wi-Fi experiences in homes, ensuring consistent quality across different areas. In healthcare, we developed a low-power, connectivity-enabled medical badge for doctors, allowing seamless communication and transcription during surgeries. These projects illustrate our ability to enhance user experiences and operational efficiency through innovative embedded solutions.
TimesTech: How has embedUR managed to maintain a 100% client retention rate, and what strategies do you employ to ensure continuous annual growth as a self-funded organization?
Rajesh: As an organisation we have a commitment to delivering exceptional services and building strong relationships with clients. We achieve continuous annual growth by staying agile, investing in R&D, and empowering our team members to drive innovation.
