Bangalore– Honeywell Automation India Limited has received the “Golden Peacock Occupational Health & Safety Award” at the 23rd Annual World Congress on Environment Management and Climate Change.

The award recognizes Honeywell’s maturity and significant achievements in promoting and protecting workers’ health and safety, and in implementing measures to prevent and control health hazards in the workplace.

Ashish Gaikwad, Managing Director, Honeywell Automation India Limited, said, “From the board to the employees, every stakeholder is actively engaged in building and promoting a culture of safety, with the aim of eliminating hazards and minimizing risks. The Golden Peacock Occupational Health & Safety Award is testament to the primacy we place on building and nurturing a culture of safety.

All Honeywell sites are required to implement a Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) management system. A key element involves reporting HSE-related incidents such as injuries and environmental events via a comprehensive management system software solution.

Honeywell’s HSE and product stewardship management system encompasses 18 core standards, which help meet regulatory requirements, set clear objectives for improvement, and maintain standards to achieve those objectives.

The company has developed operational controls in approximately 90 specific areas. These include safety, industrial hygiene, loss prevention, environment, health, product stewardship, transportation safety, process safety management, construction safety, and remediation. Climate-related risk is also monitored as part of the company’s overall risk management.

Honeywell’s HSE programs, including occupational health and safety, are managed by a team of trained professionals with extensive knowledge and collective experience in occupational health, chemistry, hydrology, geology, engineering, safety, industrial hygiene, materials management, and energy efficiency.

The Golden Peacock Awards, created by Institute of Directors in 1991 and awarded annually, are regarded as a benchmark of corporate excellence worldwide. Award nominations are evaluated and audited by an expert evaluation committee comprising domain experts from various sectors. The awards seek to create a competition for raising overall performance standards and recognize the achievements of the best performing organizations.
