TimesTech: What is the existing global size of the DLP market, and what factors are driving this technology?

Filip: Over the past years, there has been a big increase in security awareness. Many companies decided to implement a Data Loss Prevention solution either proactively, or because they had a security incident recently. Companies need to use a Data Loss Prevention solution as part of their compliance as well. (BFSI, Pharma, Healthcare, IT, etc.)

TimesTech: What exactly are the DLP issues in India? What effect did covid-19 and WFH have on the landscape?

Filip: While hybrid work is proving to be a positive step for many companies and employees in terms of productivity, data security took a hit in 2020 and 2021 due to the shift towards working from home. This is mostly a consequence of how organizations have developed their cybersecurity and data protection policies until now.

Due to the constant digital and data growth, it is essential for companies to be equipped with the necessary resources and to provide efficient cybersecurity and data privacy. Besides the risk of a data breach that causes both financial and reputational loss, growing compliance requirements and the loss of competitive advantage are essential factors to consider.

The awareness of Data Loss Prevention and data security has increased a lot in the past two years due to the pandemic. Filip: We are looking to provide our DLP solution with advanced features and functionalities that ensure security, flexibility, and compliance for larger companies in India, offering more features like predefined policies for local compliance.

We also intend to develop and enable more channel partners and attend more local events.

TimesTech: Are there any upcoming announcements regarding new DLP solutions tailored to Indian markets that are critical for Indian enterprises?

Filip: The Endpoint Protector Enterprise package addresses the complex data protection strategy challenges many of the large bases of Indian enterprise customers face. Blending security and flexibility, it helps meet the current requirements of data protection at scale.

TimesTech: Describe the post-covid requirements of Indian organisations confronted with complex data security challenges.

Filip: During the pandemic, because of the WFH policy, many companies protected their computers based on the network, so they were left unprotected.

India has the second-largest internet user base. Due to the constant digital and data growth, it is essential for enterprises and government authorities to be equipped with the necessary resources and to provide efficient cybersecurity and data privacy. Besides the risk of a data breach that causes both financial and reputational loss, growing compliance requirements and the loss of competitive advantage are essential factors to consider.
