SSIR Launches Samsung Innovation Campus Program in 30 Distt.

India, Bengaluru- Samsung Semiconductor India Research (SSIR) has announced their partnership with the Department of Collegiate and Technical Education (DCTE), Government of Karnataka as part of its flagship CSR program Samsung Innovation Campus. The partnership will enhance technological skills in Internet of Things (IOT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI). It will benefit more than a thousand students and teachers in 37 polytechnic colleges across 30 districts of Karnataka.

This initiative strengthens Samsung’s commitment towards the Government’s Skill India initiative as part of its vision of #PoweringDigitalIndia. The collaboration will provide hands-on training and access to cutting-edge technologies to students in the rural areas.

Samsung Innovation Campus:

Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC) program is a global citizenship initiative aims to foster innovation in IoT and AI. The program will bridge the proficiency gaps. It aims to skill our GenZ’s in new-age technologies thereby enhancing their employability. The Samsung Innovation Campus program will ignite a technological revolution by offering students training through a comprehensive understanding of the latest technologies. Further, it will get them a unique opportunity to collaborate with SSIR engineers.

The program will include facilities, required kits, and equipment along with IoT and AI-based training for students. This will further enable an ecosystem of innovation for students to thrive. Further, it will help them develop industry-capable skills as part of their learning curriculum. Under a multidisciplinary approach, students will be provided with a space to solve local problems through practical experience.

Commenting on the partnership, Dr. C. N. Ashwath Narayan – Minister of Skill Development, Entrepreneurship and Livelihood of Karnataka, said, “We are proud to join forces with an innovative semiconductor organization with a forward-looking vision to bring cutting-edge IoT and AI solutions to rural students in Karnataka. The launch of the Samsung Innovation Campus program levels the playing field, providing equal access.

Meanwhile, students will go through theoretical as well as practical applications as per course module. They will go through assessments during and after the completion of the course. At the end, students have to prepare the project in the final stage. Certificates will also be given out after reaching a certain level of the training.
