Tata Power announced the installation of over 450 charging stations along over 350 national highways, including one on the longest (NH 44) and the busiest (NH1).This is consistent with Tata Power’s general plan of constructing charging stations from east to west and north to south. According to the corporation, over 450 EV charging stations, including hotels, office buildings, and car dealerships, have been built on highways in 25 states and five union territories. From north to south, the NH44 is one of India’s most prominent highways. Meanwhile, the highway traverses through several states, including Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and others. Similarly, NH 19 is one of the busiest highways, connecting east and west and traversing many states. Tata Power said it has also established a Network Operations Centre (NOC), which offers the backbone for strong charging assistance, enabling effective operational administration of pan-India charging points. The company stated that it intends to have over 6,500 charging points by the end of this fiscal year. According to the firm, Tata Power currently has a network of over 21,000 home chargers (for private use), 240+ electric bus charging sites, and more than 2,400 public and semi-public chargers spread throughout 300 cities, villages, and national roads. Meanwhile, Tata Motors is working to expand its electric vehicle market in India. In order to entice customers, the automobile manufacturer has launched the Jet Edition for its Tata Nexon EV. The Jet Edition comes with a slew of enhancements for the electric SUV.
